English Introduction
《Bowery Electric》 (1995) is the groundbreaking debut by NYC duo Bowery Electric, pioneering a fusion of post-rock, downtempo and shoegaze. This nocturnal urban soundscape combines lo-fi drum machines, psychedelic guitar walls and hazy vocals into what Pitchfork called "a sonic flâneur's diary".
Innovations:
- 《Slow Thrills》 wraps 4AD-style guitars around trip-hop beats, birthing the "sludgegaze" tag
- 《Next to Nothing》 features AM radio-style vocal fragments sampled from 70s soul LPs
