This concert was filmed beautifully. The camera work captures the energy of the band and the intimacy of the venue. You get close-ups of Steve Morse's fingers, Don Airey's hands, Ian Paice's drumsticks. But you also get wide shots that show the band as a whole and the crowd's reaction. And the sound is reference quality. A great document of a great band.

He's not flashy, but he's always there, locking in with Ian Paice's drums, providing the foundation for Steve Morse's guitar and Don Airey's keyboards. In "Perfect Strangers," that bass line is the spine of the song. And his speech about the Budokan being a sacred place shows how much this band respects their fans and their history.

The bonus tracks are a nice touch. "Green Onions" leading into "Hush" is a great way to acknowledge the band's early days. "Hush" was their first hit, and hearing them play it in 2014 is like seeing an old friend. They don't try to update it; they just play it with love. And the crowd loves it back.
