2014年4月12日,深紫乐队(Deep Purple)在东京日本武道馆(Nippon Budokan)上演了一场足以载入乐队史册的演出,这场名为“…To The Rising Sun In Tokyo”的现场,于2015年8月28日正式发行。

《…To The Rising Sun In Tokyo》是一份献给深紫乐队忠实信徒的厚礼。

What a setlist! They didn't just play the hits. They dug deep into the catalog. "Into the Fire" from In Rock, "Hard Lovin' Man" from the same album, "The Mule" from Fireball. And they mixed in new stuff from Now What?! like "Vincent Price" and "Uncommon Man." The new material holds its own against the classics. That's the mark of a band that's still vital.

The fact that Deep Purple can still play like this after 50 years is remarkable. Ian Paice is one of the greatest rock drummers ever, and his work on "The Mule" proves it. Those drum fills, that swing, that power—he hasn't lost a thing. And Steve Morse's guitar work is just flawless. He's not trying to be Ritchie Blackmore; he's being himself, and that's enough.

This is Deep Purple at their most refined. The Wacken show from the same year is for the metalheads, but this Tokyo show is for the connoisseurs. The band is relaxed, confident, and in complete control. Ian Gillan sings like a storyteller, not a screamer. Steve Morse plays with taste and precision. And Don Airey carries Jon Lord's legacy with honor. The version of "Lazy" on this disc is worth the price alone.
